Malaysia, Petronas university offering me scholarship which cover my expenses

 
Related Country: Other by Guest on 06 Feb 2012 I think you are lucky that you got this chance. Malaysia is no more offering scholarships to foreign studies for Master programs but only UTP is offering scholarships for M.Sc Research.
This is not a big deal that program is research or taught course as long as you are getting funding is enough. And the stipend paid by UTP is more than enough.

As you are thinking to pursue PhD in future then M.Sc Research will be much more helpful for you as PhD is also a research program.
I suggest you to grab this opportunity and dont waste your time....

Hello Group! I just wanted to know if Malaysia is a good place for getting a job after doing masters there. The field is Mechanical/Manufacturing engineering. I am looking for answers that will address the following: - Job opportunities availabile in the field - Job opportunities available for foreigners - Treatment of foreigners, and discrimination - How easy/hard it is to get a job, and what are the routes - Visa/Immigration issues. - In the case you do not get a job, the recognition of degree (UM) worldwide and opportunities back in Pakistan (are we back at square one?) ...so far I have got a bleak outlook of the scenario.

I am not sure about the specifics for your branch, or 100 % about Malaysia...I used to study in Singapore where its easier to get a job than Malaysia...but from some friends who have worked in Malaysia, their is some form of quota (reservation) system for local Malay people and there may be some difficulty getting a job...again you should confirm this...Try contacting online headhunters based in Malaysia for their assessment of the situation perhaps ? I think UM is a reputed university and NUS, Singapore was also a part of it...of course if you get an admit to NUS, Singapore....it will be better for you, especially in terms of jobs....thats my opinion, but you check with other sources too.
